The release 0.9.0 is now available for download at
http://perfbase.tigris.org
(or directly from the subversion repository).
This release incorporates a large number of changes (both improvements and some
bug fixes). For a full listing, see the file CHANGES in the distribution. The
most notable changes are:
- Unlimited input file size as the files are no longer read into memory completely.
- Added new example that process 'iozone' output (examples/iozone)
- Added new example that performs "automatic" performance comparison for results
of the IMB (aka PMB) benchmark and for results of the NAS Parallel Benchmarks
(NPB) (examples/auto_compare)
- Performance improvement of queries by avoiding redundant SQL operations.
- Multi-line text input is now supported.
- New output format 'XML' stores data in XML.
- Improved handling of parameter sweep in operators, combiners and outputs.
- 3D-plots with gnuplot are now possible (see examples/iozone and examples/PMB)
- New database format to improve performance. Existing experiments can easily be
upgraded with the "check" command.
- Adapted to PostreSQL 8.1 (now works with 7.4.x and later).
Thanks to all users and contributors!
