[webERP -translation] TCPDF Not Embedded Font/s Test.Hi,
This is a test of the same utf-8 pdf document but with not embedded font/s and using TCPDF, http://146.red-88-2-131.staticip.rima-tde.net/weberp311utf/javier/javier1.php (Issues are different for each system; you may read mine in the pdf.) If you look at TCPDF web site you will see 52 examples, The example # 8 has 822 KB because the embedded CID fonts, http://www.tecnick.com/pagefiles/tcpdf/example_008.pdf I copied it and changed serif embedded with sans-serif not embedded, http://146.red-88-2-131.staticip.rima-tde.net/weberp311utf/javier/javier2.php Now it takes 30 KB. As expected, it's a matter of "fine tunning" fonts, something that newer systems are doing better everyday. I think languages might be divided in five groups (utf-8): 1) Latin 2) Asian 3) Cyrillic, Central and East Europe 4) Hebrew, Arabic, Thai and Vietnamese 5) RTL Harald, I can´t stop wonder what did you mean about printing forms, did you mean a data or statistic request or survey? javier ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Re: [webERP -translation] TCPDF Not Embedded Font/s Test.Hi Javier,
Good point. The examples explain everything. When I wanted to open a pdf file using Acrobat Reader 9, Acrobat Reader 9 popped up a message saying " a Japanese font is missing, do you want to download it?". Isn't it smart enough to handle the issue of missing fonts? Best Regards, -Zhiguo

Re: [webERP -translation] TCPDF Not Embedded Font/s Test.Hi Zhiguo,
Acrobat is right, just think that popup message says CID font instead of Japanese font. Look at installed software -> Acrobat -> Change -> Modify, You should see the 3 CJK components; as I used a CID font (Character IDentifier) (File -> Properties -> Fonts) to generate the pdf and fonts are not embedded, the receipt must substitute it so it must be installed. http://www.adobe.com/products/postscript/pdfs/cid.pdf javier > > Hi Javier, > > Good point.
