I decided to release 4.0.3, even though there is just one bug fix
(though important one for anyone using w3c schema validation), mostly
because it seems like there's need for actual 4.1 branch. So to clean
up the slate, 4.0.3 has changes so far, and hopefully switch to 4.1
will be quick.
The reason for moving to 4.1 is basically due to need to augment
XMLSchemaValidationFactory interface a bit (see
[
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/WSTX-195] for more info). Since this
is change to a public API, a patch release won't do.
Additionally I am hoping to do some bigger refactoring to solve
[
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/WSTX-130] which would otherwise need
to go to trunk (which is for 5.0, which will require JDK 1.5 and is at
this point fully generic-i-fied, i.e. not compilable or usable by
1.4).
So, anyway, 4.0.3 should be safe to use, and the next release will
most likely be 4.1[.0]. If so, it should be fully compatible with any
code that uses 4.0.x. Bigger changes will be reserved for 5.0 upgrade.
