Thanks to Matt's posting of 2009-04-24, about an LG Dare, I was able to sidestep a persistent exception I was having when attempting to retrieve the Phonebook. I opened the contact list on the phone and removed a couple of spurious entries, the apparent result of the enV3's propensity for butt-dialing. So I guess I could call those butt-contacts. :-\

Now I have a similar problem (unexpected exception) when attempting to retrieve the SMS messages. It is repeatable, any time the SMS item is checked in the Get Data From Phone dialog.

I found a couple of apparent butt-messages to remove from the phone, and removed couple of unsuccessful attempts to send photo-messages, but I'm still left with the exception. None of the remaining items in the phone's Messages section appear suspicious.

I've attached a couple of the bpbug.gz file (includes log and exception window content) created for this exceptions, it seemed a bit long to go in the message body.

(And, to head off the obvious: yes I have the phone's unbelievably stupid keyboard lock enabled, including the "OK Twice" option. But LG forgot to reset the sequence if any key /other than/ OK is pressed; and the phone apparently has lots of type-ahead buffer. So it is very easy for a simple mash-down on the face of the phone to simultaneously unlock it and queue up a bunch of arbitrary actions, apparently not limited to dialing.)
