1.7-B2 and IvyHi,
Groovy 1.7-B2 contains ivy-2.1.0-rc2.jar, Gant 1.8.1 contains ivy-2.1.0.jar. Now the question is, can I safely pack ivy-2.1.0 for Groovy instead of the rc2-version that is in the zip file? Or should I instead remove the ivy-2.1.0 that is brought in by Gant? If Ivy have been following proper release protocol then the only difference between 2.1.0-rc2 and 2.1.0 is the name on the jar -- if there are any changes is a release candidate then a new release candidate should be issued so that the final release candidate is the release. I would go with 2.1.0 if at all possible so as to seem up to date. I guess the test that has to happen is to make the change in the Groovy branch and see if there are errors. I am supposed to have gone an hour ago, so I can't try it out I'm afraid. -- Russel. ============================================================================= Dr Russel Winder Partner xmpp: russel@... Re: 1.7-B2 and IvyHi,
I have tried an installation with ivy-2.1.0.jar without problems, but I didn't have the time for extensive tests. I will use ivy-2.1.0.jar, and will add the RC2 jar to Supplementary/lib. Additionally I'll place a text in the installed_versions.txt stating that if there are any problems, the user should replace the jar with the older one. Sounds like a good plan. Of course, it will never affect me, as I am a M$ Windows free zone :-) -- Russel. ============================================================================= Dr Russel Winder Partner xmpp: russel@... Re: 1.7-B2 and IvyThe ivy-2.1.0.jar wasn't ready in time for beta-2 (1 or 2 days late so nearly made it) but I have been using with trunk with no (new) problems. Cheers, Paul.
