1280x1024 tile limitation still enforced?

Hi all,

is the traditional 1280x1024 limitation still necessary for map tiles
in the current dev-versions of gpsdrive?

I have a nice, licensed, geo-referenced tile set for a local project that
cover each 20 x 20 km on 4724 x 4724 pixels, which I would love to
use as they are.

If not, are there any scripts around for slicing them up and creating
overlapping tiles in 1280x1024 ?

thanks
Tom

are they in a format known to GDAL?  (www.gdal.org)

yes, see the included gdal_slice script. minor assembly required.
if you have problems with it, just ask.
