2.0.2 - any more fixes to go in?
Hi All, We are looking into freezing the code for 2.0.2 soon.
If you are working on any more fixes for this release, please shout now!!!
Also make sure to finish up any pending issues by today and tomorrow.
We should target the code freeze for EOD Friday for 2.0.2. If you have any concerns, this is the time to raise them.
Thanks, Samisa... --

Re: 2.0.2 - any more fixes to go in?
Hi Samisa, I got some stuff to be committed. These are the fixes for memory leaks which occur when restarting Carbon. I couldn't complete those fixes, because I was busy with preparing WSAS documents. Thanks

We need a little bit of time to test dashboard stuff.
Testing will happen next this week and next week. But the stuff needs to be in there. We are already packing for testing. I want to know what exact things are yet to be committed. Dragging the code freeze just because few items are pending is going to drag this release longer.

I just added them to 2.0.2 yesterday.

Sure, but you already have done some fixes right? Can those go in?
The question here is the release date. If we are to release in first week of November, then we have to act now. And we have quite a number of release worthy fixes in already.
So if this takes more time, we can wait till next week, which means the release is on second week of November, or we can move further fixes to 2.0.3 - release early and release often principle.

Guys, this is not about fixing issues. This is about feature completion. (Well, this is a patch release, so no feature completion as such, rather all those main work items)
From what I hear, it is only the memory stuff from Sameera that is pending, in terms of major work items, that will have potential regression threat. Isn't it?
Our bridge servlet implementation is derived from a sample implementation from Equinox. I profile this original BS implementation and found that there are memory leaks in it, when you restart. I suspect that some of the memory leaks in Carbon occurs due to the issues in the original impl. Therefore we may need to fix bridge servlet implementation. I am not sure whether we need to change Equinox impl as well. I need to dig into this issue some more.
Sure, but you already have done some fixes right? Can those go in? sure, I will commit the changes today itself.
The question here is the release date. If we are to release in first week of November, then we have to act now. And we have quite a number of release worthy fixes in already.
So if this takes more time, we can wait till next week, which means the release is on second week of November, or we can move further fixes to 2.0.3 - release early and release often principle.
Samisa...
Thanks Sameera

The memory patch, is it just about committing and verifying or do we have more work in there?

Re: 2.0.2 - any more fixes to go in?
Hi Isuru, Did u commit the operational caching fix to 2.0.2 branch? I think this issue [1] must be fixed in 2.0.2. [1] https://wso2.org/jira/browse/CARBON-5372 - operational level caching does not work

And as we discussed offline, lets include other fixes, specially those specific to Equiknox into 2.0.3
