I haven't seen any issues with CR2, so I think we should get the final
release process going.  Does anyone need more time for anything?

Cool, we need hurry up with 2.2 release. What is the plan, Pete?

As soon as Norman releases 2.1.2, we should identify the critical
issues for 2.2 (Drools 5 support is the only one I know of), and then
set a release schedule.

NB Really, 2.2 will be a minor release, we are just bumping the
version number due to the Drools change.

Agree, plus get jbpm integration into individual jar. There was also
question, if we can upgrade the spring integration to 2.5.x instead of
2.0.x.

WDYT?

This isn't happening any more - as I'm sure you recall SOA-P no longer
needs Seam/jBPM4 integration...

Yes, I think this is fine.

I know that it was "canceled", but anyway I thought that it could be
done doesn't matter what SOA-P choose.

https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBSEAM-4079 is still in JIRA for
2.2.0.CR1 ;-)

I believe we can safely bump Spring to 2.5.

There was also
question, if we can upgrade the spring integration to 2.5.x instead of
2.0.x.

I've been using Seam together with Spring 2.5 for a long time. There really is no conflicts...and what is nice is that you get the Spring ELResolver (instead of the VariableResolver) in your hands for tighter integration.

Hi,
about library versions I'm wondering why doesn't Seam bundle the
latest hibernate 3.3.x ?

I guess it was a good thing to keep the same version as JBoss AS 4.2,
but since 5 is out these reason could be reconsidered.

Hibernate Search 3.1.0 is available since months and has many
improvements over 3.0.1, but it requires an up-to-date hibernate core.

Right, we should do this update?

Sanne, do you want to submit a patch to a JIRA?

Upgrading to Hibernate 3.3.1 will force to add slf4j libs and having
both sl4fj and commons-logging jars with the current version of Seam.
So if Seam is packaged with Hibernate 3.3.1, why not updating Seam to
use slf4j instead of commons-logging?

I am currently using seam 2.1.2 + hibernate 3.3.1 + slf4j + log4j +
jcl-over-slf4j.jar (just for seam...) and everything works fine. Would
be cool to drop jcl-over-slf4j.jar ..

Sure, thanks.
I've opened JBSEAM-4201, please edit it about the Fix version and give
me some directions about the logging libraries.
I'll try to attach a patch next weekend.
