Hi all,

As usual, we need a wgo front page banner for the 2.28 release. Cc'ing
Andreas and Vinicius who helped on this task on previous releases.
Ideas for a message that summarizes well the release are welcome.

Cheers!

Hello everyone.

I've been thinking about a message for this release, and this is what
I got (attachment included).

"Better for users. Cleaner for developers."

Regarding the banner, I still don't know if this idea of not using any
colour neither any illustration is really good. Suggestions? :)

Cheers!

I like it but maybe not enthusiastic enough?

I think some color would help :-) Especially to differentiate the new
banner from the current one (which is the same color?).

I agree, this is entirely underwhelming. It's also just weird, cleaner? What does that really even mean, it's very ambiguous.

The bottom text is also strange. I don't think that sheer is a good word to use here, use something that actually means large. Basically what we have is "and an utter number of enhancements". What? If we really love the word sheer, we should add volume, or something for for sheer to modify. Number being modified by sheer doesn't really mean anything useful.

What are the major themes of the release notes this time? You need some
basis for the snappy summary.

I would consider major themes for users to be:

* Bluetooth (first time module is officially part of GNOME)
* Empathy (huge improvements, including MC5, theme support, geolocation support and desktop sharing support)
* Epiphany moves to Webkit

The "Get unwired" theme from the release notes is good. Could we
expand that to include things from Empathy like the desktop sharing?

If things really work significantly wonderfully better then this alone
could be worth a major focus, with mentions of specific uses that are
known to work.

> * Empathy (huge improvements,

Vague.

Dull.

>  theme support,

The ability to change colors in a chat? Dull.

>  geolocation support

Letting IM contacts know where I am? Nice.

> and desktop sharing support)

Letting people control my desktop. And this actually works? If so,
that's a huge major feature.

> * Epiphany moves to Webkit

This is implementation, so it's dull for users.

Erm, so I'm not seeing anything inspirational. Sorry.

Hi Vinicius,

I think we agreed that "Made to share" is a good slogan for the
release. Could you prepare a banner with it?

Hey Lucas. "Made for share" seems great. I'll work on that ;)
