2.7.0-dev snapshot and JackOSXHi Kai,
the snapshot doesn't play well with jack. Ecasound eats all evailable CPU time and prints a lot of JackActivationCount::Signal value = 0 ref = 4 messages to the console. I tested it with /ecasound -i:jack -o:jack An older ecasound v2.5.2 does work normally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crystal Reports - New Free Runtime and 30 Day Trial Check out the new simplified licensign option that enables unlimited royalty-free distribution of the report engine for externally facing server and web deployment. http://p.sf.net/sfu/businessobjects _______________________________________________ Ecasound-list mailing list Ecasound-list@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ecasound-list |

I've started writing a reply to you on this a couple of times already, but then got stuck at the first sentence, as I honestly have no clue what could be happening. :P There has been no changes to JACK support between 2.5.2 and the latest 2.7 snapshot (aside client port naming), and JACK support works fine on my system (although with jack1, not the new jack 1.9.x that you are using on OS X). But, but, there are quite a few changes to the core engine code (after 2.6.0), so regressions are possible. But unless I can reproduce the problem on my local setup, finding the cause will be quite challenging. Probably the best place to start is for me to try the latest git/snasphot with jack 1.9.x and see how that works. I'll report back once I've done that... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The NEW KODAK i700 Series Scanners deliver under ANY circumstances! I really should solve this (and couple of major items in current snapshots) as soon as possible, as ~3 weeks from now, it's going to be 10 years since the first public Ecasound release, and it'd be nice to make a new release to celebrate the milestone... ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OpenSolaris 2009.06 is a cutting edge operating system for enterprises looking to deploy the next generation of Solaris that includes the latest innovations from Sun and the OpenSource community. There were similar errors reported on jack-devel: "Muse and JackActivationCount errors" http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.audio.jackit/19344 I'm not 100% sure if this is the same problem, but at least the error messages looke the same. Anyways, in case of Muse, the error has disappeared with latest SVN of JACK2, so retrying the test maybe worth a try. I tried to reproduce the problem myself today, with JACK2/SVN (r3570), but couldn't trigger the case (this on Linux though). There could still be something wrong (regression since 2.5.2) that shows up only on Mac OS X, but hopefully this is not the case... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Ecasound-list mailing list Ecasound-list@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ecasound-list |
