2.8p14 / DS9490 disappearing-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1 Hmm and while doing some more testing another one: (I make a new post as I don't know wether it's related..) 2.8p14, pretty simple setup with 3x DS9490: - - 81.40922F000000 one iButton on (directly with a reader-cable) - - 81.35B62F000000 just some sensors on my desk, 1m cabling - - and nothing on the third (waiting for an iButton to get attached) - - The DS9490 are on a well-powered, proven USB hub One DS9490 gets lost pretty quick, I did some debugging-output, attached. - - I tried to stop it as soon as one went off fully and I did some runs to get the smallest one, it doesn't always happen that quick but reproducable.. In the attached log one DS9490 gets lost approx 190secs before it stops. - -> owserver needs to be killed with -9 then and restarted to recover. best regards Michael -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk8pyKAACgkQaWRHV2kMuALsRQCeJcbr4MpVeAJ9xSnJ78v8hlr8 lSMAnj/57NL2Jjnm1HiEdwXYIBLaOPAD =t90e -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keep Your Developer Skills Current with LearnDevNow! Re: 2.8p14 / DS9490 disappearingHi Michael,
maybe what you experienced is the same what I already described in another tread. - Is only one DS9490 got lost and the others still continue working? - Maybe this one have a high capacity between data-wire and ground (due to a wrong placed Capacity or very long cable) - Did you tried version 2.8p2 as workaround? In my case it solved the problem. See my thread here Achim

It surely is, my last summary posted here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-systems.owfs.devel/9120 2.8p2 seems much more stable as the reset_errors are less frequent but IMHO the problem stays the same.. best regards Michael ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Try before you buy = See our experts in action! Re: 2.8p14 / DS9490 disappearingAaargh - I did'nt got that you are the same Michael, sorry :-)
I have 2.8p2 now running since weeks, in one special environment "tuned" close to the edge of non-functionality (with extra long cables and capacity), but it still works flawless, not one hanging owserver in several systems :-) OK, you already had a closer look to the sources, maybe it is self-healing, but I don't care - it works! Of course at the end I would appreciate having an up-to-date version working too... Thanks a lot so far for digging inside Achim |
