2009.1 KDE 4.2.4 PulseAudio/Knotify issue

I see that even after the upgrade to KDE 4.2.4 the Pulse Audio / Knotify
issue is still there. I am still seeing the high CPU usage on boot and
still find myself having to open the PA volume control and kill the
Knotify stream.

After that the CPU usage returns to normal.

I was hoping that the upgrade would fix this, bit it didn't for me.

What's the best permanent fix for this. I don't want to disable the KDE
sounds, but do want to reset the CPU overload.

Hoping there are good ways to do this.
