3000iSEB start never gets going, appears as if to fire every other time

whole generator shakes and convulses. Put a new spark plug in and it runs good for a while. Upon restart, problem comes back. Plug is fouled. Gas is fresh. Carburetor has not been cleaned. Bought generator used and inherited the problem. Battery needs to be replaced. Must start with pull rope.

Temporarily fixed. In the oil check compartment, pull the blue wire away from the fitting (male / female coupler) located in the upper left part of the bay. It disconnects the low oil warning module and Voila, the engine starts and runs smoothly. ALL THIS IS ASSUMING YOU ARE NOT REALLY LOW ON OIL which i was not. I have yet to replace the module which is about $55. This info was graciously given by a Yamaha dealer in southern Cal to me in Oregon.
