My databases are currently in 4D 2004r7 and I was wondering if there
is any reason not to update to 4D 2004r8. We use a number of plugins
(FaxPack, MenuPack 3.51, MessageTools 3.54, PrintList Pro 4.24,
PopupPack 3.54, QueryPack 3.6, Toolchest 3.0, ALP and Foundation 4)
and I was wondering if anyone has seen any problems. We run 4D Server
and are an all Mac shop. I don't remember reading to much here about
the last version of 4D 2004.

We have been using 2004r8 since it was released and haven't had any
problems with it. Can't speak for all those plugins though :)

Ditto.  I assume you mean 2004.8.
