64bit support

Hi

I have a doubt.

Do tightvnc support 64 bit OS. How does vnchooks work in a 64 bit scenario.

I don’t think from a 32 bit application you can hook into a 64 bit application using vnchooks?

Does RealVNC provide 64 bit support?

Regards,

shriniwas

Srinivas,

No, 32-bit applications cannot directly install the classic VNC Hooks
into 64-bit apps, nor vice versa.  However, the VNC Personal &
Enterprise Editions running in Service-Mode make use of a GDI "mirror"
display driver which hooks all rendering operations regardless of the
architecture of the application.  I beleive that the TightVNC project
also makes use of such a mirror driver.

We have been running TightVNC for years - just got Win7 on a 64 bit machine - is that a problem?  I'll go test it.
