A few LilyPond videos (in French)Greetings everybody,
Whilst I'm hardly keeping up with the LilyPond Report these days, I have been busy making several video tutoriels about LilyPond and LilyPondTool: http://lpreport.blip.tv/posts?view=archive Unfortunately, these are only in French for now, and do not always look entirely professional. I'm considering making some in English as well, but I have yet to determine how to achieve that (not to mention that most of you guys probably don't want to hear my accent ;-). Anyway, this is just an example of what can be done. I'm planning to make more of those (including more advanced, exciting stuff), I've also been mailing many official institutes in France to help LilyPond be recognized as a valuable tool for music teachers, conservatories, etc. No answer so far, but I'll keep trying. Cheers, Valentin _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@... http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user |

Re: A few LilyPond videos (in French)Hi Valentin
I viewed the first one - looks really good! Even though your spoken French was too fast for me to follow, the display made it clear what was happening. I've never tried jEdit and I see now what I would need to do. I'll go and watch the rest, but first a couple of comments: The Flash format worked fine, but the Microsoft Video format just hung for ever loading. This is on Vista. Don't know why. The sound was at a low volume, although it was quite audible with my sound turned fully up. This may be a problem with my setup though. An English version would be great! Don't worry about a French accent - most English speakers find it quite attractive! (I was very disappointed, many years ago now, when the voice in my Renault 25 was a male speaking BBC English rather than a feminine voice speaking English with a French accent ;) Trevor ----- Original Message ----- From: "Valentin Villenave" <valentin@...> To: "lilypond-user" <lilypond-user@...> Sent: Friday, November 06, 2009 2:31 PM Subject: A few LilyPond videos (in French) > Greetings everybody, > > Whilst I'm hardly keeping up with the LilyPond Report these days, > I > have been busy making several video tutoriels about LilyPond and > LilyPondTool: > http://lpreport.blip.tv/posts?view=archive > > Unfortunately, these are only in French for now, and do not always > look entirely professional. I'll also use the native Ogg/Theora format for people who use decent browsers (i.e. the last Firefox/Chrome/Opera builds). > The sound was at a low volume, although it was quite audible with my sound > turned fully up. This may be a problem with my setup though. I'm not sure why. I tried to boost the volume, but then the saturation is ugly. > An English version would be great! When they can actually understand the words, that is ;) Thanks for your comments, Valentin _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@... http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user |

Re: A few LilyPond videos (in French)Valentin,
This is a great initiative. I want to learn how to do that! Seriously. Furthermore, I think they are pleasing in many ways. Also, your voice is charming. Ogg version opens the totem (or gstreamer?) firefox plugin on my machine, which has no moving cursor. Flash goes fine -- good. Quicktime version seems to try to load it completely before playing. > > The sound was at a low volume, although it was quite audible with my sound > turned fully up. This may be a problem with my setup though. I also hear it fairly low, and left balanced. -- Francisco Vila. It's in my wishlist for next year. -- Federico Bruni | http://www.gnurag.net/blog/ LibrePlanet Italia http://groups.fsf.org/wiki/LibrePlanetItalia _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@... http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user |
