Hi guys,

The wierdest things pop out of my head from time to time. Can't say this is the kind of music I listen to, but out it came and I'm quite happy with it so far.

It's somekind of newage swedish punk/progg. Hot off the plate.

I hope atleast some of you will enjoy it :-)

Or at the main page:

Comments/criticism are very welcome. I'm learning all the time.
Oh, btw, it's tagged, hope I got it right.

Regards,
Robert

The recording quality is awesome.

How did you record the guitar?  Did you mic a cabinet or do direct?  In
either case, can you describe your setup?

The recording quality is awesome.

Thanks :) I'm getting to the point where I am mostly satisfied with the production part. Though as people often comment, I tend to over-compress. Probably I will find in a few days when I listen to this that I have overdone it here too...

Neither I would say. The guitars are through a PODxt, hence lined directly.
The sound I used is nearly clean, I prefer it that way, too much distortion will make the guitars impossible to place in the mix.
Another aspect is is that most of the different guitars are recorded twice and heavily panned left/right.
I'm not a perfectionist so there is a fair bit of "diversity" in the guitars.  ;)

Thanks for listening
/Robert

Robert, it hangs out again, (as the software). Downloaded 1.2mb (out of 6.3) and stopped there. Went on website, will not play for me. I wonder if others experience the same problems?

Yes, same thing happened to me. I was just getting in to it when it
stopped abruptly and it timed out when trying to reload.

Awesome! I'd never heard Surf music in Swedish before, but it's great fun!

Great recording too, nice mix.

Crap, and it works perfectly here so I have no idea where to start searching... :(

Anybody have any experience of similar problems?
It's a virtual server running on a (quite old) OpenVZ installation. Most likely there is some problem with the network configuration but I'd be darned what...

took 8 iterations of wget to fetch it all - just interrupt with ctrl-c
when transfer rate indicates stall, and in a minute or so, you'll have
the entire file

I've been trying to download it over the past 1.5 days. It gets part way
through, then stalls and never resumes. I use KGet - by repeated
stopping the transfer (when it stalls) and starting it again, I just now
finally got it downloaded ...

Bummer, sounds like a hardware problem ...

So put your song up on archive.org! ;-)

Yesterday I tried to use one of the internet computers at our local
library to check my email. Every few seconds, Windows XP would pop up a
message informing me that a Delayed Write (to the temp folder) had
failed, probably due to hardware causes ...

Probably a fsck that hadn't been done in an looong time.

> Please, Viktor or someone else that had problems, try again, see if it

I did try. At first I got about 1.1MB and it stoped. After that I turned on
wireshark and did a wget. The first attempte did succeed. The second did stop.
I did a few tests after that and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It
seems that you have (or your upstream ISP) have bursts of packet loss. The
first working download I had was with packet loss and several resend (20-30)
in the middle of the session. The one that stops didn't have any resend at
all. There might be several causes to this. I would start with looking at the
interface but as this is a vm it is probably a problem. If you run your own
dom0 (hypervisor or whatever. hopefully you have a dom0 that isn't closed
source or weird) do check the interface (real one). and see if it has some
sort of errors. Actually. Test it anyway whether you have access to dom0 or
not. It wount hurt.

ifconfig eth0 (change eth0 to your interface)

or, better if your interface is supported by ethtool.

sudo ethtool -S eth0

If you can't do that talk to your upstream provider. Last resort would be to
talk to your your fellow vm:ers on the same machine to see if they have the
same problem.

Hello Robert!
this was wow. I loved it. I can't understand the lyrics of course, which
leaves a lot fo room for interpretationl It sometimes sounded, as if you were
singing something funny, and they you got up to the serious stuff.
Very well done, usually not my kind of music as well, but this one has drive
and a natural, band-like feeling to it and the ending is creative. Not your
everyday thing.
   It rocks!

Oh, thanks Julien, I'm so glad you liked it :-)

The lyrics are actually quite dark and a wee bit cryptic.
The title means 'a lie' ... not sure I can or even should translate the text. I would say it's about lost love, frustration, madness. You know, the usual ;-) Further interpretation is up to the listener...

Hello folks,

if there still was interest for anyone that was stopped by technology I have moved the file.
The link on:
http://spamatica.se/diligodecanto/
is changed to:
http://www.archive.org/download/EnLogn/diligo_decanto_-_en_logn.mp3

It seems to be working fine. I'll move the others another day.

Have a nice weekend,
Robert
