It might be because of some issue with JDK 6u12. See http://www.nabble.com/Weird-problem-with-generating-scaffold-td21941642.html. If you have more than one JDK version on your system, try pointing to different versions. The fixes for this will be backported to 6.5 too, but it will take some time. The change they did in 6u12 broke a lot of functionality in the IDE, so if you're not willing to use daily builds I'd really recommend to downgrade to 6u11 until the next patch for 6.5 (which include the fixes) is available.
