I run FC9 with zd1211rw driver and a ZyDas USB wireless network card.
When I try scanning thus:
iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwlist wlan0 scanning
I do succeed to get correct results.
but:
iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwlist wlan0 scanning
gives:
wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Operation not supported
My question is (and I admit I am a little noobie on this): With
zd1211, am I able to perform scanning only in managed mode and not in
other modes, like monitor/Ad-Hoc mode ?
Is it so also with wireless drivers of other vendors ?
