AIM/ICQ support?

Heya,

Has anyone managed to get the new AIM/ICQ gateway provided by AOL?
http://florianjensen.com/2008/01/17/aol-adopting-xmpp-aka-jabber/

I couldn't get Gossip to connect to it. Using:
gossip-0.27-1.fc8
loudmouth-1.2.3-3.fc8

Cheers

No I haven't tried it yet. This is indeed good news!

Hmm, I wonder if it would work with loudmouth 1.3.3. It is much more
XMPP compliant. I actually have an AIM/ICQ account from back in the day,
I will try it some time soon.

You have to connect using TLS encryption, so loudmouth 1.3.3 is required
I think.

Hmmm, probably a good reason for me to update loudmouth to 1.3.3 in
Fedora Rawhide.

Yeah, while labelled as unstable it should be just as stable as 1.2
branch. I think it would make sense to use it for Gossip and start
making use of the new features in it.
