Would using ashx vs aspx yield any performance gains for fFX applications?  Or, are there any technical reasons why we must use the aspx page infrastructure for hosting our remoting apps?  Just getting up to speed on it...  thanks!

It would not as ASP.NET pipeline events occur before http handler execution.
The FluorineFx http module handles requests before custom http handlers are
executed.
