ASSP denies relaying from local usersHi All!
Please explain to me, why ASSP trying to search LDAP with "proxyaddresses=smtp:prvs=8565e636cc=MyAddress@...", but not with "proxyaddresses=smtp: MyAddress@..."? IMHO, BATV tags can't be found in LDAP. Correct me please, if I going to the wrong way, cause I still reading BATV draft. 1. Re: Antwort: ASSP denies relaying from local usersThanks for your sugesstion about using FBMTV. I'll find RFC'f about it and read asap.
I've download RC 0.1.17, set these values: DoMSGIDsig set to 3, DoBATV set to '0', and enable DoLocalSenderAddress. Then I did couple mailflow tests, which has been successfull. While testing I've noticed that when DoBATV is set to 3, I did not receive any delivery reports. I've not explored yet, did they has been dropped by assp or by Exchange. and read asap. You'll notfind any RFC about FBMTV. This is an assp unique feature. Fritz and I hav'nt jet written a DRAFT to send it to IANA, to get the feature become a RFC. FBMTV is doing the same (and some more) like BATV with the email address, but with the message-id. Using FBMTV and make sure that all outging mails passing a FBMTV enabled ASSP, you'll get 100% free of unwanted bounces. Just to wipe some "fog" :) When sending a message through an FBMTV enabled ASSP the latter will retrieve the original message ID for the message and prepend a unique signature to it; so, for example having a message with a Message-ID header like 001501ca62d6$915c7740$213fd1a0@... and sending it through ASSP, the message ID, after ASSP FBMTV processing may become sig.1566bcf893.001501ca62d6$915c7740$213fd1a0@... notice the "sig.xxxxx.<original-message-id>" at this point, since the Message-ID isn't "mangled" by other servers when someone will reply to your message, ASSP will check the incoming Message-ID for a valid (and own) FBMTV signature and will strip it off, so the message ID will become (again) 001501ca62d6$915c7740$213fd1a0@... by the way, in case of bounces, if the bounce is "valid" that is generated by a message with a valid FBMTV tag, it will pass otherwise, missing the tag in the signature the message will be considered an "invalid bounce" and will be rejected The beauty of this approach is that it doesn't mangle the sender email address (as BATV does) so it eases dealing with email addresses whitelists and so on while, at the same time, retaining the same efficiency of BATV (ok, probably a better efficiency :D) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial. Yes, and in effect it seems quite similar to FBMTV now it's to see if the patent may be claimed or not but at any rate putting a patent on such a thing really SUCKS imHo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
