you can include a jsp page and pass the parameters inside the include tag and then in that included jsp page you can get the value of that parameter. For that you look into include droplet in ATG docs.

One of my client is looking for someone with a strong background in ATG Dynamo, Architect or similar that could assist him directly with a technology audit of the sites that they have that use ATG Dynamo. They have issues with the sites and the sites are managed by different entities so the task will require an ATG Dynamo Consultant with a good deal of political skill in addition to the technical skills. The work can be done offsite with periodic trips to either New York or New Jersey.

I started this forum when I was doing ATG development for BR (mississauga portal, directv, nau.com, etc) in a time when there were literally NO useful forums available to find help. The only forums that did exist were implemented using ATG and were not googlable, thus were useless.

Now, almost 3 years later, there are a few other forums available that are both searchable by google, and have an active user base. I have ignored this forum for a while, so it's time to move activity elsewhere.

ALTERNATE ATG FORUMS
The following groups are more active, so you should be able to get faster responses.

Google Group: ATG_Tech
I don't remember if your registration is immediately active. If it isn't, this is a bad thing. These groups should be IMMEDIATELY accessible, which is why nabble is great.

Activity seems good here. This is probably your best bet.

Google Group: ATG Dynamo Server
I thought this group was run by someone I worked with in the past at BR, but I just registered for the group, and was immediately asked where I worked. Seems unfriendly immediately, which isn't a good sign.

I repeat, IT SHOULD BE EASY TO ACCESS THIS COMMUNITY. This is why I created this nabble group in the first place, so everyone could easily access the information, and post questions.

developer.sparkred.com
Spark::red, an ATG Host, seems to be hosting a developer community. You get instant access once you register, but it is not easy to find the forum from your JIRA dashboard after registration (go back to developer.sparkred.com).

The forum runs on phpbb (or that other commercial version that looks like phpBB) and is supposed to allow single sign-on, but it didn't work for me, so I wasn't able to login to the forums.

Activity seems moderate, but higher than here.

While the alternatives aren't awesome (ATG_Tech seems okay so far), it is better than this forum right now.

- I enjoyed trying (unsuccessfully) to get ATG running using mysql back in the day - this is a particularly painful memory for Terrance.

unable to create component from a Java class

This is due to a JDK version incompatibility, but again, you need to post the full exception... The class was most likely compiled with a 1.5 JDK and its probably running on your ATG server on JDK 1.5, but you are using the ACC and that is using a 1.4 JDK.

Hi Geetha,

I think (I don´t have enough information of your requirements to be sure), that the functionality you need has been already developed by ATG, so you just need to setup it up.

If you have access to the ATG documentation take a look at the ATG Commerce Programming Guide, chapter ATG Commerce Web Services for information about the functionality of standard ATG Commerce Web Services.

For more information about setting up ATG Web Services look at the Web Services and integration Framework Guide.

Custom web service

Hi ,

I am new to ATG. I want to create a custom web service to update the shipping details in the order repository.I will get the request from external system.I want to update hardgoodshipping item descriptor based on orderId(which comes from the request). I need to give response to customer either success or failure (It is based on reposiory update).

I have created wsdl and xsd's to develop this service. I have to deploy this service on Jboss server and I used axis2 to develop server side from the wsdl. I have to create service implementation class in server side code to update the repository code.Now I am unable to integrate my implementation code with ATG.

What kind of configurations needs to be done to integrate wiht ATG. Wether I need to create a separate module in ATG or is there any way to create custom service in ATG. It is very urgent for me.

Please help ...........

How to restart ATG dynamo

Hi all, I am facing problem with restarting of ATG dynamo messaging. I am using patch bay API for message sending to Tibco(Third party provider).
It is working fine but if the Tibco server is restarted then message sending and receiving is not working. I tried to start the dynamo using doStartService() ,also tried to start individual message sing with createMessageElement and source with createMessageSource but it is not working.

Please help me to restart the Patch Bay so if the Tibco goes down, the patch bay should start and send/consume message as usual.
