Greetings fellow hawkwatchers!

This message is meant to serve two purposes.  The first is to inform you about an event that might be of interest to you which will take place at Braddock Bay, NY (popular spring hawk watch site) called August Red-tail Days.  This is a yearly event that is held as an educational and  fundraising event for Braddock Bay Raptor Research, which focuses itself around the incredible natal dispersal of red-tailed hawks that is seen each summer.  The dates for the event are Friday and Saturday, August 21 & 22, 2009.  We will soon have the final schedule of events up on our website (www.bbrr.org), but to summarize things for you now the program will include presentations with live raptors, banding demonstrations and tours, raptor related activities for kids, a nature related arts & crafts show, live music and silent auction.

The second purpose of this e-mail is to attempt to reach out to other hawkwatch sites to find out who might be interested in sharing some information with people who attend August Red-tail Days.  What I had in mind was to set up a table in our display area devoted to other hawkwatch sites where we could have brochures or handouts available for visitors to take.  We also could make some space if your site has a poster or display that could be sent out to us.  We would be willing to cover the return shipping if that is the case.  If your site is interested in sending materials our way, they can be sent to: Braddock Bay Raptor Research, 43 Overland Trail, West Henrietta, NY 14586.  You can also contact me (see below) via e-mail or phone if you have any questions at all about the event.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer!
