Hello Trevor,

Thanks, but I had already tried that. They end up in the "display
device" section of the XF86Config-0 file, and are ignored:
/var/log# cat Xorg.0.log | grep Xkb
(WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbLayout" is not used
(WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbModel" is not used
(WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbOptions" is not used
I also tried manually adding them to XF86Config-0 and restarting X
(CTRL+ALT+Backspace)
As I check the Xorg.0.log file, it reads the parameters, but then I
think it can not locate the keymap (and so reverts to us one?)

Any clues?

seems we found it out. It was a low performance virtualized running
"WhatsUP" Server and the servers were reacting to slow. Now everything is
going back to normal.
But i have another question.
We use session and user conf placed on the local hard disks of our
thinclients. The folder is "thinstation.profile" thats longer as 8 signs,
but we use fat16. It works fine, but sometimes i found a client with weird
signs and files in this folder. Should i change this in the future?

The 8+3 file name length doesn't come from FAT, but DOS' command.com.
Long file names are fine with FAT.
The odd files you can delete. I don't know how they appear, but never
had trouble when deleting them.

Hi !
I have managed to get ThinStation run on my ITX, Hardware is okay, and
well functional.
But I won't get the thinstation.conf.user running
I am starting from an USB-Stick with syslinux.
I have set NET_FILE_ENABLED=Off in thinstation.conf.buildtime
And thinstation.conf.user is stored on stick within
thinstation.profile-folder
I would only autostart an rdesktop-session !

Hi !
I have thinstation starting from a CF card (with syslinux) and performing only (autostarting) a remote desktop session.
Here is my config (thinstation.conf.buildtime) :
Hope it helps.
=======================================================
AUDIO_LEVEL=67
KEYBOARD_MAP=pt_PT
TIME_ZONE="UTC-1"
SYSLOG_SERVER=local
USB_ENABLED=On
DAILY_REBOOT=Off

SESSION_0_RDESKTOP_OPTIONS="-a 24 -k pt -N -5 -u ''"
SESSION_0_AUTOSTART=On
SCREEN_RESOLUTION="1280x1024 | 1024x768 | 800x600 | 640x480 | *"
SCREEN_COLOR_DEPTH="24 | 16 | 8 | *"
X_DRIVER_NAME="nvidia"
SCREEN_BLANK_TIME=10
SCREEN_STANDBY_TIME=20
SCREEN_SUSPEND_TIME=30
SCREEN_OFF_TIME=60
MOUSE_RESOLUTION=100

X_NUMLOCK=On
NET_USE_DHCP=On
NET_FILE_USER=not_needed_for_tftp
=======================================================
for me, this configuration boots the computer from the CF card and autostarts the rdesktop for the remove server.
Cheers,
Bruno Santos
