They end up in the "display device" section of the XF86Config-0 file, and are ignored: /var/log# cat Xorg.0.log | grep Xkb (WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbLayout" is not used (WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbModel" is not used (WW) VESA(0): Option "XkbOptions" is not used I also tried manually adding them to XF86Config-0 and restarting X (CTRL+ALT+Backspace) As I check the Xorg.0.log file, it reads the parameters, but then I think it can not locate the keymap (and so reverts to us one?) It was a low performance virtualized running "WhatsUP" Server and the servers were reacting to slow. Now everything is going back to normal. But i have another question. We use session and user conf placed on the local hard disks of our thinclients. The folder is "thinstation.profile" thats longer as 8 signs, but we use fat16. It works fine, but sometimes i found a client with weird signs and files in this folder. Should i change this in the future? The 8+3 file name length doesn't come from FAT, but DOS' command.com. Long file names are fine with FAT. The odd files you can delete. I don't know how they appear, but never had trouble when deleting them.
