A feature LMMS lacks is the ability to move istruments from one position to another in the "Song-Editor" and in the "Beat+Bassline Editor".
I think this feature should be added.

I strongly agree. You should be able to use *the same* instrument in both.

It is possible.  There are even "grips" there to drag&drop.

:-O

...hey, nice try. You can't move instruments between song editor and B+B editor.

Ah I see that it duplicates the track. However I am in agreement with Louigi.

Perhaps the question becomes:  Do we still want two seperate sets of
instrument (BB and Song) or do we want to make a single set?

I think the single set idea is good, but as some people mentioned, it
may clutter the Song editor with drum samples you never use.

On the same token, maybe you have a loop in a BB-pattern then want to
do a solo, it would be nice for that to go straight into the
song-editor, I suppose.

Maybe a means of "collapsing" instrument tracks that you don't intend
to use within the song editor, or some sort of grouping strategy?

I am just trying to brainstorm right now.  I remember starting to use
LMMS several years ago and the current behavior was not very intuitive
to me.

"I think the single set idea is good, but as some people mentioned, it

This is okay. The confusion from two sets of instruments is much bigger than some additional
lines in a song editor.
Besides, if we have one set of instruments, the song editor should show patterns, not instruments.
Maybe also audio files.

Also, all instruments in the song-editor works very well with the
fx-channel-per-instrument patch I wrote recently (and need to rebase)
