With a little looking around after our workgroup meeting yesterday, I
found that the Windows CE Pocket PC model (.cdb format) is apparenly
loosing favor to a much more robust MS PDA database product, that is,
SQL Compact Edition (briefly SQL Everywhere). It can synchronize with
SQL Server databases in a connected/disconnected fashion sort of like
mobil email works. ADS provides a way to synchronize data between a
Microsoft Access database on a desktop and Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Compact Edition database on a device replacing the old Pocket PC
conversion method. Visual CE 10.0 supports SQL Compact Edition, and you
can download SQL Compact Edition for free, along with ADS, tools, and
documentation at
