Adding more information to Nexus lucene indexer

Hi,

I need to add some extra info to the current Nexus indexer.

Should I implement a plugin extending the IndexerEngine or something like that?

What is the easiest approach to make this?

How can I say to the NexusIndexer that I need to add some other info
related to an artifact that is being uploaded?
