Adding new Printers to Linux.

Hi People,

I am in the process of completing a wxPerl development for an embedded system.

But I need to maintain printers.  It seem that wx has no native controls for adding a printer device. Does anyone have any experience of managing the addition of a printer through wx or Perl?  Again there are no obvious candidates (to me at least) on CPAN.

I'd love to hear about any ideas you have.
