Adding permissions removed old permissions

I see nothing about my problem in the TroopMaster Help, the official FAQ, or the archives here.

The brief summary:  My SM recently tried to add permissions for me so I can take over all the TM data entry.  TroopMaster, instead of giving me permission to additional areas, removed my permission for everything I used to be able to do.  We have tried resetting and creating new permissions and passwords, but are making no progress on this problem.  I would appreciate any insight.

The system environment:  We are using the current TroopMaster 2009 - V4.01f with DotNet uniformly for all users in our troop.  Our troop has been using TM for many years, my SM has 7 years experience with it and myself 2 years experience.  I use TM only on my own computers.  Our troop uses a different password for each person.  So we don't share either computers or passwords.  Some of us use Windows XP and some Windows Vista.  The SM is the only one with the admin password.

The gory details:  When I first volunteered for our troop, my password had read-only permissions to our TroopMaster.  Later, my SM added permission for me to write in the Activities area.  I've been successfully managing activities for a long time.  Recently my SM added a new password with permission to manage all data areas (but not admin), and gave me that password.  I tried to log in with it, and TroopMaster told me it was not a valid password.  I could still log in and manage activities with my old password.  Then my SM tried adding permission for the additional data areas to my old password.  I can still log in with that old password, but it is now strictly read-only.  When I try to edit the activities data that I used to have permission to edit, TM now tells me I don't have permission in that area.

In the DotNet screen, TM tells me I am logged in with my correct name.  But when I view the DotNet log today, it says the last login by my name was weeks ago.  The log shows me logins by my SM's name today, and I see changes in the TM data that he makes.

Anybody know what happened, and what we should try next?  If my TM backup contains any information about the internal database structure or state, I could look at that.  Currently I have no documentation of what is where in those files.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks.  TSI also said I would need to phone while they are in, rather than debug via email.  We eventually resolved the problem.  My Scoutmaster tried deleting my password and then re-creating it.  When I logged in, TroopMaster showed a message I had never seen before - approximately "I need to reload the ftp site."  It then repeated its startup messages, and when it was done, I was in with the permissions I expected.
