Thank you so much for the prompt response to my question.

I followed your instructions by clicking START, CONTROL PANEL, ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS, selecting OPEN OFFICE 3.1, then clicking CHANGE.

This led me to the Installation Wizard and the reinstallation of the OOo modules.
"OOo setup" never appeared, nor did "modify" nor did a "file types page".

Sooooo, what's next?  Should I select a repair option when the Installtion Wizard opens?

Any further help would be appreciated.
