as long as it's "ambient".... :-)
i would try to give a small description to ensure you're not just trying to "spam" the list.

here's what the list info. page says:

i got my copy yesterday and i'm impressed. there are no samples up (or i'm looking in the wrong spot), but here are a couple of reviews:

the focus seems to be on revolving, distant drones. minimal playing. very clean sound. it would sit nicely in the disk changer next to aloof proof's "piano text" (quick comparison). great packaging, timely delivery.

of course you're hearing this from someone (me) who thinks that all of Deerhunter's work (Cryptograms and Microcastle) contains traces of beautiful ambient music .. especially the Crytograms album.

It's interesting to see how much and often the indie music scene moves into ambient terrain.

(a) getting a root canal with no novocaine from a dentist who thinks he's trying out for the sequel to Marathon Man ("IS IT SAFE???")
(b) being stuck in traffic...when it's 100 degrees out...and the A/C is broke....so is the CD player...and you left your ipod at the office...and the only radio station you can get is playing Rush Limbaugh
(c) going to the multi-plex on a Saturday night and the only movies not sold out are all rated G...and they are NOT Pixar films or the only film still available is a sequel of a sequel of a sequel, such as "I Know What You Did the Summer Before Last After You Reached Your Final Destination and It Was Friday the 13th and You Were Having a Nightmare on Elm Street"
(d) Getting a ticket for speeding and finding out that the cop who pulls you over is the (formerly) fat little kid you picked on in grade school and he recognizes you and, no, he is not the forgiving type...and by the way he's screwing your spouse, too
(e) ordering the latest ultra-limited edition ambient masterpiece from (take your pick), waiting for 6 weeks for it to arrive, opening the envelope only to find that some numbskull in the post office thought that the padded envelope could be folded in half, resulting in ambient masterpiece(s) parts one, two, three, four, five....twenty-nine

One of the things I try and do (from my own personal listening perspective) is listen to a huge variety of stuff - classical, jazz, ambient, dub, rock, etc., and then locate various "ambient" or soundscape type elements in each. I hear ambient all the time in classical, jazz, rock and indie - all the time ... sometimes it might sound highly influenced by someone like Eno or Patrick O'Hearn ... other times it sounds richly original to me.

Even the new Animal Collective EP has ambient elements to it as well as minimal techno, found sound, and psychedelic tendencies. I don't know about everyone else but I love finding these types of connections when I listen. It's not trying to define anything - it's just trying to piece it all together. Call me crazy but I get a lot out of listening in this manner.

of course you're hearing this from someone (me) who thinks that all of Deerhunter's work (Cryptograms and Microcastle) contains traces of beautiful ambient music .. especially the Crytograms album.

It's interesting to see how much and often the indie music scene moves into ambient terrain.

yeah or per my earlier e-mail, the answer could also be Radiohead and Thom Yorke - I think they are doing some of the most innovative ambient work today. Just my 2 cents.
