It takes a UML model from a CASE-tool and generates classes and deployable components (J2EE or other) specific for your application architecture.

>
> The cartridge editor is intended to facilitate editing the cartridge configuration. It is probably a good idea to implement this as a multipage editor, with pages vor the various aspects of the cartridge:
> - templates (defined in cartridge.xml)
> - metafacades (defined in metafacades.xml)
> - namespace properties (defined in namespace.xml)
> - profile elements (defined in profile.xml)
> Basically, we should have a forms based editor (text fields etc.) AND a source page for each of these files. I am also thinking of a graphical editor displaying the various elements as a box and line diagram. Not sure if that's a good idea, so I am looking for feedback.

I would like to have the capability to export datatable in xls or pdf like it is done in the BPM4Struts cartridge.
I think that Trinidad is not offering this function, so you perhaps have to use another JSF component library.
Primefaces looks like to be the best in the marketplace for this. Look there : http://97.107.138.40:8080/prime-showcase/ui/exporterProcessor.jsf
May be I can help doing this, if someone explains me the roadmap to do this ...

AndroMDA/JIRA Commented: (JAVA-40) Duplicated getter for boolean attribute in ValueObject

Bob Fields commented on JAVA-40:
--------------------------------

Should be fixed now. There was a disconnect between the multiplicity lower bound and the primitive/wrapped types. I've added validations to make sure these match but haven't committed them yet, I needed them because I am mixing andromda code with code from other frameworks (specifically CXFand JAXB) where priimitive/wrapper types are automagically changed based on multiplicity. The general convention is isBoolean for primitives and getBoolean for wrapped types. Let me know if you still see any problems. I'm guessing you had the attribute multiplicity lowerBound set to 0, that's why it created the duplicate isX method, I changed it to $attribute.primitive. You'll have to fix the model multiplicity soon when the validations are updated.

    Versions: 3.4-SNAPSHOT
Assigned to: Matthias Bohlen

Since a few days, my Vos don't compile because there is duplicated getter for boolean attribute in ValueObject. One is marked as @Deprecated. The comment says : "Duplicates getBoolean method, for use as Jaxb2 compatible object". But this makes the compile failed...

Example :
     * Get the active Attribute
     * @return active boolean
     */
    public boolean isActive()
    {
        return this.active;
    }

    /**
     *
     * Duplicates getBoolean method, for use as Jaxb2 compatible object
     * Get the active Attribute
     * @return active boolean
     */
    @Deprecated
    public boolean isActive()
    {

Create a new method in the uml common metafacades model OperationFacade, something like getSequenceBody, or create a new attribute sequenceBody and it will create a getter method automatically. Generate the UML Common and UML14, UML2, UML22 metafacades by building through mvn. You will get a compilation error because the descendants of the abstract OperationFacadeLogic from UML Common do not implement the handleGetSequenceBody method. Just implement that method in each of the metafacade implementations (you can stub it out in UML14 just to get it to compile) using the underlying UML2 types populated from the model and the existing relationships from the UML2 Operation class.

Hi, I have gone through the tutorial "Getting Started Java", and now I am investigating the development of a software testing automation engine.

As a starting point, I will be looking at a simple Visual Basic Login screen with a user id and a password field, and also an OK button.

The automation engine will read test data from a spreadsheet, populate the window, and click the OK button. Then it will confirm that the the actual result is what was expected. If not, it will generate a defect.

Some questions related to this:
1. Is it possible to generate a GUI application using AndroMDA ?
2. Is it possible to use AndroMDA to develop the automation engine as described above ?
3. Is there any sample UML available for a simple GUI application ? If so, can you please provide a copy of the UML so that I can use it as a template.

Thanks.

I know that this is an old thread, but I had the problem with update-on-read for Entities holding a clob type,too.

Obfuscator's recommendation works here.

This is what I do:

in mda/src/main/config/mappings, I created a file "HibernateExtensionMappings.xml" with the following content:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<!--
Fixes/extends original AndroMDA Hibernate Mappings, which you find in HibernateTypeMappings.xml
-->
<mappings name="HibernateExtension">
   <extends>Hibernate</extends>
    <mapping>
        <from>datatype::Clob</from>
            <!-- Map to text, as the HibernateStringClobType causes an update after read
                 if the attribute is NULL
                   See http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4583 -->
        <!--to>org.andromda.persistence.hibernate.usertypes.HibernateStringClobType</to-->
        <to>text</to>
    </mapping>
</mappings>

And in mda/src/main/config/andromda.xml, change to:

        <property name="hibernateTypeMappingsUri">file:${conf.dir}/mappings/HibernateExtensionMappings.xml</property>

With this, the update-on-read problem is fixed here.
Tested with AndroMDA 3.2

Hello,

The post explains how to create Stateful services with the Spring cartridge. The patch was submitted on Jira : .

I need Stateful services with Spring only and also with EJB but this patch doesn't generate stateful session beans when EJB is enabled.

I have implemented EJB stateful as follow. What do you think of this solution ?

Thanks in advance.

0. Applying patch SPRING-131

1. namespace.xml
Add the property ejbStatefulSessionBeanBaseClass

    <property name="ejbStatefulSessionBeanBaseClass">
        <default>org.springframework.ejb.support.AbstractStatefulSessionBean</default>
        <documentation>
            Full name of stateful session bean base class for ejb wrapper.
        </documentation>
    </property>

2. cartridge.xml
Add the property reference ejbStatefulSessionBeanBaseClass

    <property reference="ejbStatefulSessionBeanBaseClass"/>

3. SpringSessionBean.vsl
Add the inherited class by service type

    #if ($springUtils.isStatefulServicesEnabled() && $service.isServiceTypeStateful())
        extends $ejbSessionBeanBaseClass
    #end
> Action state without outgoing transition are needed to generate PDF for example.
> The workaround I found was to comment the line 210 in the Controller.java.vsl template file. But I don't know if it is a correct solution.

because the generated code is not compatible with hand made code using Andromda 3.3 generated constant.
I use in my ControllerxxxImpl the constant Sessionxxx.SESSION_KEY to manipulate the session data. This code don't works with andromda 3.4-SNAPSHOT. This code was made for the BPM4Struts cartridge and to works now with the JSF2 cartridge.

On the other hand, it's always better to use constant. This make for quality tools (like Sonar) not to throw alerts about poor code quality.
> The SessionObject.java.vsl don't use SESSION_KEY constant to name the session.attribute object. This make AndroMDA 3.3 code not compatible with A3.4-SNAPSHOT.
> When generating Enum classes, A3.4-SNAPSHOT don't use values. This leads to literals values being not initialized. This is also a difference with A3.3 which makes an incompatibility with old code.

Yes, you're right. I hadn't noticed because we always model standard UML enums, there really isn't such a thing as EnumerationLiteral.Value when using actual UML Enumerations instead of Class <<Enumeration>>. The value declaration was changed from ${literal.enumerationLiteralParameters} in the original template implementation, but that method doesn't exist on EnumerationLiteralFacade, only on AttributeFacade. It is populated there from the tagged value @andromda.persistence.enumeration.literal.parameters. It looks like the original implementation code assumed the enum was always modeled as a class with attributes instead of an actual UML Enumeration with literals. Now I see why I was always getting the ${literal.enumerationLiteralParameters} output from that template in the Java cartridge.

I'm doing some other work in the Java cartridge, trying to make sure the output actually compiles and is compatible with UML2 models, also fixing the types for Int enumerations, I can fix that at the same time. I'm just about finished, will test and apply the changes.
> When generating Enum classes, A3.4-SNAPSHOT don't use values. This leads to literals values being not initialized. This is also a difference with A3.3 which makes an incompatibility with old code.
>  Attachments: Controller.java.vsl, SessionObject.java.vsl
>
> The SessionObject.java.vsl don't use SESSION_KEY constant to name the session.attribute object. This make AndroMDA 3.3 code not compatible with A3.4-SNAPSHOT.
> Action state without outgoing transition are needed to generate PDF for example.
> The workaround I found was to comment the line 210 in the Controller.java.vsl template file. But I don't know if it is a correct solution.
