Hmm, the server annotest.w3.org (or iggy.w3.org) indeed does not answer.
Does someone know who is responsible for this server, or what the
problem is? What is needed to "revive" it?

Would it be an option for you to use a server not hostet by the w3c?

I had forgotten about this list, and servers down is a problem.
Which is why I recently redesigned YAWAS (Yet Another Web Annotation System)
to store annoations on Google computers through their Google Bookmarks service.
Ib the last 10 years since 1998, Google has been available to me ;)

Check it out at http://www.yawas.com

Everybody is most welcome to take apart the extension to view the source and modify, etc.
- rename yawas.xpi to yawas.zip and unzip
- go to /chrome
- run jar xvf yawas.jar

You will see yawasOverlay.js, which has most of the meat.

Laurent.
