Hello,

If Theora video does not meet your requirements there is another free
video codec, Dirac.

The good news, it's royalty free, open source... ready for use.

The bad news, no SMIL players support it yet.

Dirac 1.0.0 was released September 17, 2008.

Ambulant supports an older version of Dirac. Now that the container file format issues are apparently sorted out we will look at incorporating the newest version.
