Re: Anybody else has trouble to access to Microchip's web site?Looks like a problem with their redirect. Goes into an endless loop. Try
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=64 Alternately, search for something on google with "site:microchip.com" and find a direct link to another page. You should be able to navigate around their site once beyond the initial redirect loop. -Adam On Mon, Oct 19, 2009 at 9:24 AM, Jan-Erik Soderholm <jan-erik.soderholm@...> wrote: > Tamas Rudnai wrote: > >> Anybody else has trouble to access to Microchip's web site? > > Yes. Re: Anybody else has trouble to access to Microchip's web site?Hah. I was wrong. The redirect loop appears to affect CMS links on
their own site as well. One direct link I've tried leads to a planned maintenance upgrades message. -Adam On Mon, Oct 19, 2009 at 12:58 PM, M. > Anybody else has trouble to access to Microchip's web site? It happens relatively frequently that I have to wait or reload several times when going deeper into the hierarchy at Microchip. E.g. searching a device is fast then clicking on the device page link takes a very long time to load, and I may have to repeat the search from start. I am using firefox on bsd and linux usually. I'd say one in four or five such accesses is inordinately slow or fails and needs to be repeated. I assume it has to do with caches or with some other kind of contention on the way and not with the Microchip servers proper. Right now as I am writing this they are down for maintenance. Netcraft shows that Microchip uses Akmai as a proxy, as do many other companies. We will see if they will fix it. reference: http://searchdns.netcraft.com/?position=limited&host=e.g.+microchip.com Peter -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist |

They sometimes have problems with updated content propagating to the hosts. You can have problems with your local Akmai node that others don't. For me the site was fine all day apart from one short spell of 'Maintenance' about an hour ago. Maybe it has been up and down and I missed all the other downs or maybe they went round the nodes one at a time. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist |
