Anyone have a an amp/mike? Please help!

SFPUG,

I've just discovered that, to get sound for the pgDay next Sunday in San
Jose, we would need to pay $500.

Does anyone have a microphone and amplifier we can use instead?  Heck, I
think Chris has the mike, if only someone has a mini-board and amp.

Please help!

Has this been resolved? If not, I checked with a musician neighbor and I
can borrow his speakers with integrated amps. All we need is power and a
mic (and I may be able to get a mike, too).

I mentioned to someone before, but I have a mic and a little mixing board
with a pre-amp for the mic, as well as a mic stand.  It's more designed for
recording, but should work for PA work as well (moreso than nothing I would
imagine).  I haven't heard if this is needed, I'll presume it isn't unless I
hear otherwise.
