Anyone want to help me make a Chaotic Fighting RPG?I've got some ideas for an RPG for Chaotic, that would be set in Chaotic and Perim, involving fights and scanning.
I'm an Ideas person, and I'm best at writing stories and I'm okay with computer graphics (nuffin too complex and I'm probably not the best drawer); but I'm not so good with programming and I'm not too sure about RPG game mechanics. Would anybody be willing to help? I'm not gonna be too adventurous, text-based could be okay, maybe with some images. But it'd be good if it's something like Pokemon Crater ( http://www.pokemoncrater.com/ ) Maybe in flash, though I doubt that'd be easy. Danians: Ants with GUNS!! |

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?Wait wait wait, is this like MK: Shaolin Monks?
Oh and I think it would work better if the fighting was it on its own. While the RPG can have its own combat mechanics. I am an Enlightened Despot, not a tyrant.
But a dictator no doubt. |

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?I was thinking that you can explore Perim and scan creatures and stuff.
Then battle with those creatures, there could also be side-quests where you have to play out the Perim feud to scan Mugic and get extra credits. You could buy extra attacks with the credits and some Mugix, scanner-film and access to Locations. You would have to scan the BattleGear and Creatures in Perim. Also the game will be more fighting than card battling; and some of the rules and stuff could be a little different for it to be like that. Danians: Ants with GUNS!! |

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?I think the only succesful Chaotic video game would be in the form of the Megaman Battle Net games, where the story takes place in real life, and inside electronics, although for Chaotic of course, it would be in the real word, and in Perrim.

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?I was thinking the game could have three machanics:Fighting,Turn based RPG,and Real Time RPG.You could try the game maker program, but If you want a game that focuses on the community, you could always try looking for some books on how to make a fighting or RPG.

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?the idea sounds nice, but most of the people here are fairly young and don't have the propper programming skills (or the budget to buy game making programs that have useful or user friendly interfaces, game maker being the exception).
Though it is a nice idea, I doubt it could truely come to frution considering that the prospects of one of us being programmer savvy, much less finding or hiring sprite artists, graphic designers, the cost of adds and hosting a website... Its a fairly daunting project to make a sucessful game and not have it fall from under your feet. Strategy is buying a bottle of fine wine when you take a lady out for dinner. Tactics is getting her to drink it.

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?Well I've seen a few Forum RPGs, if I could find the right addons and plugins, work with that and make it into a game. And there's still free programs, and there's a chance someone will know someone that can help. Just an Idea, for fun.
Though if I was to start something like that, on a forum. I'm not sure where to start or how it would work? Any advice?, anyone into Forum RPGs? Danians: Ants with GUNS!! |

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?I was thinking that chaotic the video game should be like any other rpg/cardgame. For one, I think if it's gonna be on a game platform like the nintendo wii or playstation, you should be able to go online with it. There should be things like a friend list(place where you only play your friends), and there should be a place where you can challenge people you do not know. You should be able to buy the trading cards and type in the code on the bottom of the card and have that creature in your virtual deck.

Re: Chaotic Fighting RPG, anyone?Well I don't know what age bracket most of you fall into, but I am probably on the older end of things. I have experience programming virtual worlds like those used in WoW, and know how to build in characters and so forth. My downfall is that I'm not very good with 3d modeling, I do however have 3ds Max and am willing to learn. I'm very interested in this project as I've found myself watching this show everyday for almost a month now.
