Apple RAID card cache batteryIt has died. (Not the problems I see in the forums with flaky cards or
taking forever on first charge. It has been installed and running for quite a while, and successfully reconditioning every 3 months. Seems reasonable to assume that the error report is accurate and it is really dead.) I cannot find info on the specs; the Apple Store doesn't carry the replacements; and I don't know where else to look. The only thing I found via google was some place that was selling Apple batteries and they were marked "used"! Like I'm going to buy a fricking *used* cache battery!!! (Well, via google, I also found user instructions for replacing the battery. So if I ever actually get my hands on a battery, I'm good to go.) -- Scott Ribe scott_ribe@... http://www.killerbytes.com/ (303) 722-0567 voice _______________________________________________ MacOSX-admin mailing list MacOSX-admin@... http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-admin |

It is unclear (to me, at least), if you've taken it out and physically viewed it - can you do that and google any alphanumeric chars on it? -Conrad -- Mind that parcel - Eagle eyes can save a life. _______________________________________________ MacOSX-admin mailing list MacOSX-admin@... http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-admin |

If no one knows where to get one, that's my next step. -- Scott Ribe scott_ribe@... http://www.killerbytes.com/ (303) 722-0567 voice _______________________________________________ MacOSX-admin mailing list MacOSX-admin@... http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-admin |

Re: Apple RAID card cache battery> Did you think of contacting LSI and inquiring about a replacement?
No, because I did not know the actual manufacturer. This is the kind of clue I need. Model would be helpful too ;-) (I'd hope to find that from pulling the card, but who knows...) -- Scott Ribe scott_ribe@... http://www.killerbytes.com/ (303) 722-0567 voice _______________________________________________ MacOSX-admin mailing list MacOSX-admin@... http://www.omnigroup.com/mailman/listinfo/macosx-admin |
