ArcSDE rasters - again!I'm trying to set up a connection to an ArcSDE raster store, using Geoserver 2.0 running as a windows service. I'm getting the message that I've seen mentioned elsewhere for earlier versions of geoserver:
Could not list layers for this store, an error occurred retrieving them: ArcSDE Raster URL must be of the form sde://user:pass@sdehost:port/[dbname]#rasterTableName -- Got sde:\USER:PASS@HOSTNAME:5151\WLA#TABLENAME The issue at http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-1447 seems to suggest that this problem of mis-translating slashes was patched quite a long time ago so I'm not sure why I'm getting it with a version of geoserver I've only just downloaded? With the shiny new interface for setting up the datastore, I don't actually know how I can do it manually to work around this? Is there a way? Otherwise as far as I can see there is no way at all of adding an ArcSDE raster? Yet there's been a post on the list in the last couple of days indicating that it is at least possible! Thanks, |

Is there a way? Setting the url by hand in the user interface would be of no help at all. Problem is in loading the persisted url which is given as a File object instead of an URL object. I just committed a fix to trunk, gonna back port to 2.0.x asap when I get to test it on windows. > Otherwise as far as I can see there is no way at all of adding an ArcSDE > raster? Sorry, so does that mean that even if the data source definition files were set up in the data directory manually, the problem would arise when they are read in by geoserver? If not - is there a way of generating the xml files manually? (The problem is that I don't know what they should contain for an ArcSDE raster layer, having not successfully added one automatically to serve as a template) > > Otherwise as far as I can see there is no way at all of adding an > ArcSDE > > raster? OK - I guess this might not be that uncommon a problem as places that use ESRI tend to be windows shops in general, as we are. Let me know if there is anything I can do regarding testing this. Apologies all for the multiple postings btw; I was posting via nabble which crashed every time I hit post and so appeared not to have posted the message. Some time ago we setup an official "GeoServer testing team", a group of users that is helping test out GeoServer releases one week before the official release: http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/GSIP+42+-+Official+testing+team We have Aleda that's testing SDE, but they have GS running on a Linux cluster. If you are interested in joining and check how GS runs on Windows it would be much appreciated Cheers Andrea -- Andrea Aime OpenGeo - http://opengeo.org Expert service straight from the developers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
