I noticed a few days ago too. Thanks for remembering, I'm gonna try it
right now on a BeagleBoard.

Cheers!

Well, after some hours of work (most of the time downloading stuff) I
finally did it, I'm on the testing phase now, and of course trying to
compile more packages.

Here's a picture of the BeagleBoard working. I hope I can get a real
camera tomorrow, this one was taken with my cellphone
http://twitpic.com/9ri9r .

PS: If someone from archmobile.org reads this, please contact me, as
your e-mail servers doesn't work.

I really would like to have one if can play various formats of digital video
and of course on Arch!

Cheers!

Apparently HD capable:
http://beagleboard.org/hardware

It looks really cool! It'd be a great replacement for the crappy
laptop mpd/backup/print server I have setup.

I tried the Angstrom distribution, connected to a DVI-capable monitor
through the HDMI port on the beagle. I only tried to play a 720p video,
but the problem was the speed of the SD card so the framerate wasn't good.

Maybe with arch+mplayer+patches it'll do better, because it has a DSP
chip. But I don't plan to test it soon because my goal is to stream
compressed video from a webcam via wi-fi, and I don't have a monitor to
test on :P

I'd highly recommend this piece of hardware, it's cheap, has audio
in/out, a powerful processor, HDMI/S-Video connector and a mini-usb port.

Keep checking http://archmobile.org/.

Hi,
When you install Arch on a device such as the freerunner, nokia n800,
(t-mobile G1/2/3 ?) do you still have the ability to make/receive phone
calls and sms'es?  I'm looking for the perfect personal organizer
(linux with extensive userland so I can run/do everything I want, good
keyboard etc) that can also function as a phone. (see
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=75385 )

I'm not afraid of hacking a bit myself but in the end I want reliable
phone-features as well.

I would really appreciate your input.
thanks
Dieter

Well, the N800 isn't a mobile phone, it's like a sub-sub-netbook :P

I think you could grab the mobile phone capabilities from the
smartphone's original OS's (like OpenMoko) or am I wrong?

Good look with this :)

Oops, i confused the n800 with the n97.  The n97 has an ARM cpu,
so all my questions remain, only s/n800/n97 :)

I presume this will work on the N810 ? I read the 'Install
instructions' but they seem to be for the openmoko any ideas on where
the to find instructions for the N810?
