Arrow keys - MinGW

Hi,

I've built YAP 1.5.3 on the last MinGW+MSYS available version.

All ok, but my arrow keys (up, down,...) don't work as I expect (I can retrieve the previous command with the up arrow key).

I've read in someplace that the reason is that the libreadline (or similar) is missing.

Before I waste more time on this (building readline is not direct on MinGW)... please, might someone confirm or clarify it?

Best regards,
Pablo

Hi Pablo

I always had a lot of trouble compiling YAP with readline on MinGW, so
I kind of gave up on that, and jus have  the standard WIN32
functionality. Things may have improven for more recent versions of
mingw, though. That's what you see.

If you are successful, please do tell me!

Cheers & Happy Xmas

Hi Vitor,

I didn't get it :(

I'm not a C expert thus this task is too excessive for me.

I've used this port of readline 5.2 to MinWG:

http://www.mail-archive.com/gnuwin32-users@.../msg00887.html

I've downloaded the src bundle and extracted the "readline-5.2-src" folder. Then I''ve executed the configure & make & make install commands and all seem be ok (I've not see errors).

Afther this, I've executed configure & make & ... for YAP but the arrows key don't work.

I haven't stablished the "--with-readline" parameter for YAP when I've configured it. Maybe this step was necessary.

Maybe you will be more lucky :)

My MingW+MSYS is configured based on the official recomendations:

http://www.mingw.org/wiki/MSYS

Best regards,
Pablo.
