I have installed the two modules slamr and ungrab for my modem with
the kernel 2.6.27.7 of Ubuntu 8.10 and it work fine. Canonical at this
moment has made 5 upgraded of kernel and  to use the modem I owe every
time reinstall the two modules. Does a faster way exist for installing
the two modules to every upgrade of the kernel?
I tried a symlinks but dont work. Excuse me for my poor english.

Arturo,

If you install the packages dkms and sl-modem-source,
then whenever you boot into a new kernel, slamr will be compiled and installed.
But do install the package linux-headers-NewKernel required for compiling,
before you boot with NewKernel
