AustraliaAny Aussies on this list? I am considering relocating to Australia to do
ColdFusion work through an Independent Skilled Worker visa. I am wondering what the salary packages are like there, and specifically for a senior level developer (I have 10+ years experience with ColdFusion). Thanks! There are some large development shops that might be looking for senior folk. A lot of the CF work here is permanent work but depending on where you end up there are communities of freelance/contractors. Oz is very capital-city-centric so outside the main state's capitals there is little activity. We are a CF-based Hosting Partner and our CF coding is more application/utility biased so I don't have a good perspective of the general development area. If no-one gets in touch with you, via this List or privately then drop me a line and I will send you a few firm's names..... -- Yours, Kym Kovan mbcomms.net.au ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-jobs-talk/message.cfm/messageid:4124 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-jobs-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=17837.14401.11 |

RE: AustraliaThanks Kym. Permanent work is what I would be looking for, so that's great.
I'll let you know if I hear anything (and you're right - haven't heard anything yet) :) Thanks! Re: AustraliaI hope it's not inappropriate to link to this in the list (and My
apologies Mike D if so); most CF jobs in Oz will be advertised in Seek (Seek is The Thing for IT jobs in Oz): http://www.seek.com.au/ Search for "ColdFusion" as well as "Cold Fusion" as people still haven't figured out how to write it. Most CF jobs are in Sydney; whether this is a good or bad thing is really down to your opinion of Sydney. For example: http://it.seek.com.au/users/apply/index.ascx?Sequence=23&PageNumber=1&JobID=14402615& Experience with PHP, .NET and other web-related technology often features in the jobs that come up here. mxAjax / CFAjax docs and other useful articles: http://www.bifrost.com.au/blog/ 2008/11/15 Dave Phillips <experiencedcfdeveloper@...>: > Thanks Kym. RE: AustraliaHi All, I am a coldfusion programmer with 5 yrs. of experience. I am planning to move to Australia from Singapore, as Singapore does not have coldfusion requirements. Is it possible/difficult to get contract/permanent job in Australia. Will clients sponsor/provide my work permit? I am applying from Singapore itself but all my applications are getting rejected as I am not having valid work permit to work in Australia. Does any one has idea? Can any body suggest? Thanks for your help in advance.
