Automatic upload to ftp server

Hi there, I have a question, I think it is a very simple one for someone who knows, but I am just a humble begginner!

I have a program which generates a file (at irregular intervals). It dumps this file, with a different name each time, into the same directory on my harddrive.

I would like to know how to upload this generated file (mentioned above) to an ftp, the moment it is dumped into the directory, instantly and automatically (unattended).  Is there a SIMPLE  solution for this?
