I'm somewhat concerned about the lack of explanation in AR edits
http://musicbrainz.org/mod/search/results.html?minid=&artist_type=0&mod_type=33&moderator_type=3&moderator_id=221336&automod=&voter_id=335320&orderby=desc&maxid=&isreset=0&voter_type=0&offset=0
(also most of the voting is done the last month...)

Add-release edits are excellent though.

Are the number of votes on these elections concerning anyone yet?

I prefer to vote for editors that I recognize and frankly many of
these folks I haven't seen around.  That's not saying they aren't
doing excellent work or that they don't deserve to be AutoEditors.  It
probably just means that they work in different areas of MB.  As long
as these new autoeditors don't start making silly autoedits on
Metallica then I don't see them impacting my MB experience too much.

I'm not that worried.

What number of votes wouldn't be concerning? (just curious)

Yes, I must also ask, what pattern are you finding concern with?  Most have had the same 20 to 30 votes that all other autoeditor elections have had previously...

*sigh*

The last 2 had 11 and 13 non-abstaining, respectively.

I for one have stopped voting yes or no. Really I can't follow up this
avalanche of candidates, so I either don't vote or abstain.

And a selective sample of 2 is a pattern?  Let's look a little more broadly, from Zastai down to chopinhauer:
13, 12, 25, 25, 20, 26, 31, 21, 34, 20, 22 (total yes or no, abstains ignored)

Perhaps some autoeditors took a mini-vacation after the summit.  Perhaps real life caught up with some.  Who knows.  But I don't quite see any pattern here.  Looking at the one of those 3 nominations which has yet to close, I think I can at least say from it's current vote count, without giving away anything about the election's status, that it's highly suggestive, taken with the other recent vote totals, that there's no sign of decreasing participation.

By the way, as I had a system crash and have been rebuilding the machine, I've not sent out any PMs to those on the list recently.  I have some who've not responded to my PM's, but apart from any who haven't checked email in a week or two, I don't think I currently have anyone queued up and waiting to be nominated - if there's anyone who had any (from the list or otherwise) who they wanted to nominate when there weren't other elections going on, now may be a good time.  :)

Not picking on you mll ... you just expressed the sentiment most
recently.  Is 2-3 new candidates a week really all that many, compared
the volume of edits going into the system?  It isn't for me.
