Re: Automod Election: jongetjeI looked through some of his edits before and decided to vote yes, but
am going "no" now. The reason is the lack of reply to the questions on the edits Chris points out and not so much the edits themselves. Obviously everyone can make a mistake or two, so if there's a good reason why the edit notes were ignored I'd be willing to reconsider again. Re: Automod Election: jongetjeSince I forgot to send one the other day :P
jongetje has always seeme a decent editor to me. Actually, I'd kind of thought he already was an autoeditor. :P He's definitely been around a while, and has among the highest non-auto edit counts of all editors, with a very low failed edit count to match. Accepted non-auto edits: 4864 Accepted auto edits: 1025 Failed edits: 8 (0.2% of accepted non-auto edits, 0.1% of all edits) Votes cast: 8522 Started at MusicBrainz: 5/1/2006 Chris / Phillip, just in case jongetje doesn't see the question here, I've sent it along to him/her via pm. I'll pass the response back, if there is one. Re: Automod Election: jongetjeFrom jongetje:
Hi Brain, thanks for telling me about the question of Chris B, I hadn't seen it yet. You can send this as my reply to the mailing list. I'll just tell you what happened with that specific edit, http://musicbrainz.org/show/edit/?editid=8356734. I added the original catalog number from a web site (http://www.dominorecordco.com/site/?page=releases&releaseID=689) from which it what not clear if it should be upper or lower case. Some short time later I stumbled over the release again, I think it was the discogs page (http://www.discogs.com/release/950735) and saw the catalog number in upper case. I went through the label page and saw that indeed there were only 2 catalog numbers in lower case, mine and 1 other, and there were over 100 catalog numbers in upper case. So I changed the one I added myself originally, as I wasn't sure about the capitalisation originally, and changed the other as well assuming that it would probably also be a mistake. So, this is what happened. Or as I recall it anyway. I'm not sure if that is what you wanted to hear, or if this answers your question. It is not a habit of mine to go around making things consistent everywhere. These two I assumed were mistakes. I don't know why I didn't reply to the NO vote though, I (honestly) usually do. Maybe I waited a bit and forgot or something. Best regards, Bram PS: For those still wondering about my gender, jongetje means boy in Dutch. Anyway, thanks for making me an autoeditor. I guess I'll have to be even more careful editing now;-) Just for a little introduction. The music I like (and edit) usually contains a significant amount of guitar generated sounds. I also focus a bit on Dutch bands, as I'm from the Netherlands.
