Here are the statistics for elections that would've come out
differently had we used a 2/3 rule. Votes that would not have passed
if we required 2/3 OR MORE votes:

      name     |    date
--------------+------------
  Shepard      | 2005-07-04
  natenobility | 2005-10-22
  rODbegbie    | 2005-10-22
  Faugn        | 2005-10-22
  greycat      | 2005-11-01
  artysmokes   | 2007-08-28
  symphonick   | 2007-10-17
  artysmokes   | 2007-10-19
  Jim DeLaHunt | 2008-02-05
  acid2        | 2008-04-18
  mustaqila    | 2008-04-18

If we would've required MORE than 2/3:

       name       |    date
-----------------+------------
  jemenake        | 2004-10-28
  Kamikatze       | 2005-01-05
  MithrandirBooga | 2005-01-31
  Shepard         | 2005-07-04
  natenobility    | 2005-10-22
  rODbegbie       | 2005-10-22
  Faugn           | 2005-10-22
  greycat         | 2005-11-01
  mudcrow         | 2006-02-11
  Rhymeless       | 2006-04-10
  easterlingman   | 2006-07-10
  leivhe          | 2007-01-06
  BrianG          | 2007-03-28
  Cthulhu-fi      | 2007-05-10
  artysmokes      | 2007-08-28
  symphonick      | 2007-10-17
  artysmokes      | 2007-10-19
  Jim DeLaHunt    | 2008-02-05
  acid2           | 2008-04-18
  mustaqila       | 2008-04-18
  tykling         | 2008-06-23

Ironically enough there are some peeps that have turned out really
good that wouldn't have made the cuts.

I'm starting to think that keeping the simple majority might be better.

Remember, however, that just because someone doesn't make the cut in one
election doesn't mean they will never become an AutoEditor. Some just
need some more time. When I look up that list, I can see several in the
past couple of years that I agree probably needed more time. Some I
don't think should ever have been nominated, but for most, failing an
election isn't fatal.

In retrospect, I wasn't ready when I became one and I should have had a
few months longer to learn a few things from the experienced types.
