BDM Dependency

Within a new batch of 565 boards, I occasionally come across a board that
will only run with the BDM connected. With it connected, the board starts
and runs fine, without it, the board comes out of reset and appears to
hang.  I am thinking there must be a marginal situation with the board
design, any thoughts on where to look?

First, I would look carefully at your reset circuitry.

Second, make sure you setup or turn off the watchdog time early enoug in
your code.
