F5 Network Engineer
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) / Technical Service Directorate (TSD)
Reston, VA

This F5 Network Senior Kernel / Software Engineer: implements and maintains features and functionality for F5 products; documents software designs via functional specifications and other design documents; works within a customized BSD kernel; tunes, sustains, and re-evaluates the design and implementation; conducts internal and external presentations; and communicates with technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.

*3+ years working directly with a BSD-style kernel, or directly on TCP/IP stacks in a Unix environment
*5+ years professional experience including Unix/Linux
*5+ years BSD/OS, FreeBSD, NetBSD or OpenBSD
*Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as other network protocols
*C/C++ as well as other languages
*Web Technologies including HTTP, SOAP, XML
*Background in: Authentication and Authorization Systems, DDoS, IDS, VPNs, SSL, IPSec, L2TP, GRE, MPLS
*Experience in enterprise class network software development
*Proven track record in enterprise class systems development
*Knowledge and expertise in software engineering methodologies
*Ability to interact with users of the product
*Demonstrable appreciation for user experience
*Ability to rapidly pick up new technologies
*Conveys thoughts clearly in both written and verbal communications
*Proven ability to deliver products with highest quality and on time
*Bachelor’s degree in computer/engineering related field or equivalent work experience
*U.S. citizen
*Clearable to Secret or better
